The traditions continue at Maple Hills this year with our two special events for the 4th of July.

First event is our traditional Fourth of July 5K Run at 9am starting at Maple Hills Park. This year we are asking for a $10 registration fee to pay for the cost of the tshirts (yes, t-shirts!)

The second event is our annual Fourth of July Family Parade also starting at Maple Hills Park at NOON. Bring your best float and outfit and be part of our amazing community as we parade around Maple Hills in our best gear! Afterwards, please join the Evergreen Community Church in the park for a hot dog feed at 1pm.

The following tips are provided by a local fire department. Lets have fun and be safe out there!

• Provide children with flashlights to carry for lighting, glow sticks, a reflective costume or bag
• Children should always go out trick-or-treating accompanied by a responsible adult. If you have a group of kids going, the parents should choose two or three of them to go along and keep an eye on things
• Children should be instructed not to eat any treats until they bring them home to be examined by you
• Clear the walkway leading up to your home, and move any lit pumpkins out of the path of trick-or-treaters
• Watch out for costumes with long dangling items that could pose a trip hazard for children
